JEFF MCLAUGHLIN - Martial Arts Biography
 
Jeff McLaughlin first began his martial arts training in Tae Kwon-Do and JuJitsu, but after seeing Mr. Jeff Speakman in the movie, "Perfect  Weapon", he sought out a Chinese Kenpo instructor and began training in 1995. Mr. McLaughlin received his 1st degree black belt in 1998 and his 2nd degree black belt in 2002 in Chinese Kenpo. He ended his 
personal training in Chinese Kenpo in 2004, but trained in American Kenpo with Mr. Paul Britton and Dr. Rod Smith from 2002 until 2006. 

Mr. McLaughlin taught adult and youth classes in Chinese Kenpo at the Springdale Youth Center from 1998 through 2002 and moved his classes to commercial locations in Springdale and Elm Springs from 2003 through 2004. He also taught self-defense as a staff development course for the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of 
Arkansas from 2002-2004 and was a faculty member for Ecclesia College in Elm Springs, AR in 2004; teaching self-defense as a physical education credit. 

After taking a short sabbatical from teaching, Mr. McLaughlin signed a franchise agreement on April 1, 2006 with Mr. Speakman to run Jeff Speakman's Kenpo Karate in Springdale, AR. Mr. McLaughlin said, "We are currently operating as a franchise school under Mr. Jeff Speakman and welcome good people in the area who want to train hard."
